Hello everyone!

This is just a page to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and in the manner of those of you who are so organised as to tell me what you have done each year, to present you with some photo's of what I've been up to in 2010!

In February we went off to Dublin for a week. I don't seem to have any photographs but we did do lots of cultural visits to Trinity College and the like, as well as the Guinness Brewery, The Jameson distillery and the Temple Bar Pub...hmm maybe that's why I have no pictures -did I leave the camera somewhere?

Then in the summer it was off to the Grand Prix at Silverstone to see Jenson losing again! Never mind, at least the sun was shining after all the rain we had. Judith is seen here having a Grand Prix breakfast of bacon roll and coffee at some unearthly hour and that's me standing on the starting grid after the race.

We decided that as Judith has a very hard year at work for various reasons, that as soon as the school term ended we'd blow some money and head off on holiday. We had a great week in Aruba, which is a Dutch territory in the Caribbean.

Aruba was lovely. Very hot and only a couple of tropical downfalls which were over by the time they had started. The hotel Riu Place was all inclusive and fantastic food and drink with real authentic cocktails - we managed to work our way through quite a few of them! We saw a bit of the island which was very safe - no problems with walking anywhere and we got a local bus into town and back. Don't go shopping in town though on the day the cruise ships are in as the prices go up!

We met Mike and Marilyn in the Italian restaurant one evening and discovered we had a mutual love of music and ice hockey, so hello you two if you're out there! They had live entertainment in the hotel each evening - the karaoke was obviously the highlight of the week!

The jeep ride around the island was fun and we snorkelled in the sea after a nice bumpy ride but most of the week was spent just lazing around the pool. The only pain was having to get up early in the morning to reserve a sunbed although we managed to do that just as we were going in for breakfast. If you wanted a sunbed on the beach you had to be up at five - that's not a holiday!

Next of course are all the summer festivals where we laze about in glorious sunshine listening to music and getting a suntan! If only that was the way it worked in the UK! We didn't get totally drowned....well not all the time anyway!

Above left is Wickham Festival which is quite small but some excellent music and has a big top for all the music so it doesn't matter whether it's raining or not. Which is a good job! Next was Cropredy where we met up with Mart, seen above in standard Festival wear - a waterproof! We also managed to meet up with Hodgie and his family this year

Judith is mastering the festival skill of drinking two pints at once at Cropredy here. She met lots of teachers that she knows so it's obvious what they do in the holidays! And here we are at Beautiful Days on the right, which is the Levellers own festival in Devon. Callum and his girlfriend Hannah joined us on that one as it's a good mixture of music but still a bit more laid back than Reading.

If you're interested in who we saw over the summer click this link. There's no navigation on those pages so you'll need to use your back button to get back here.

As you can see the weather was variable! These three shots above are all from the same festival! Callum and Hannah are taking advantage of the opportunity to sit outside the tent and dry out from the night before! Judith and I are celebrating that most wonderful of festival phenomena - the pint of beer which fills up as you drink it!

...and then in September it was Callum's 18th birthday! We went up to London for the day and had breakfast in a bar two doors away from the studio where the Sex Pistols recorded Never Mind The B*******s! That's the bar on the left, covered in old NME's and music posters. In the middle is a shot from Beautiful Days - I'm sure that coffee he's drinking is in a green can! And on the right is his first legal pint - in the Hard Rock Cafe underneath Bill Wyman's bass! To follow all of that we've been visiting Universities looking at music and events courses - I've nearly signed up a for a couple myself!

Have a good Christmas and a great New Year everyone!
