dead computers, and grief from Tats about
reunions just to see you two having a conversation
from the middle of Wales to the middle of Australia
on the guestbook! And I'm still getting email

COMMENTS  Informative site.

Having just revived my turntable after 15 years
gathering dust I exhumed a copy of Nutz -Live
Cutz. I was at the Boat Club on the either the
27th or 28th of October 1977 - saw em and loved
em.

The silly whistle on the intro to RSD was my
contribution. Hope it didn't spoil it for you.

Just to let you know that some women also

I fear that our teachers will either be long
gone or in homes, so ancient are we all now...
I'm really glad you find this site interesting,
coz my offspring (Years 10 and 13 come Sept.)
think it's all a bit strange (or sad, I'm not
sure).  Still, Owen enjoys all the music stuff
... yes, maybe all our children should come on
and make a comment!!?

Enjoyed your memories of the Boat Club.
I used to travel over by train from Derby.
Great club. Especially liked Sassafras.
Terry Bennett was a wizard with that tambourine!
As you say, Electric Chair, not forgetting Beans
n Things with everyone playing percussion at one
point, and the encore "I am the walrus". I also
remember Nutz being popular there.  think they
also played the Dancing (?) Slipper club.

Also remember the Diamond at Sutton in Ashfield.
Great days!

I have a vague recollection of crawling around
amongst the rose bushes in the front garden for
half of the night for some reason , and i do
remember depositing Webby at his door and
scarpering before his dad, "Gordon", answered
it.Happy days!
Do you remember my mum and dad foolishly leaving
me the house to myself while they went on holiday
for a week - only to return home a day early and
catch us all out:party in full swing,Webby cooking
a fry up,you(i think)having a pee in the front
garden(pretending you were looking for the cat!),
and me not even in the house at the time. . .
Spunk Rock - i remember the name but can`t recall
the toon . . .

Hey Bert,
Man are still playing and you can catch up on
their gigs on loads of websites. I remember
Grat's house for a great "Dark Side of the
Moon" party but as you say Bert, you were "really
drunk at the time!" And hey, Little
Miss Viharo - remember another time you broke
my heart and we had to sing in the House Choir
Competition. We had this great guy (Neil
Richerby?) who got all the Bardolf yobs to sing
"Jubilate Deo" and "Kalinka" (in Russian). He
really sold it to us and we loved every minute,
great laugh - and we won! Naturally, I suppose,
as Bardolf were clearly the best!! Oh and Coral,
remember that smock-type dress you had in the
Sixth-Form (about a foot above the knee!) - it
drove all the boys wild! (And I dare say Gren
Gutteridge!) Aahh Lads!

I remember trying to discuss this one night at Dick
Grattons house having drunk loads of his beer some
of you may recall the foul smell it had but with
an incredible alcohol content! I also recall finding
Webby outside eating roses and Olly and me carrying
him home and leaving him propped upagainst his back door.
Talking of Webby remeber Casanova 'Bristols' playing at
Home and the air guitar to Spunk Rock. Whatever happened
to Deke Leonard and Man - didn't we go and see them at
Loughborough when geoff was there? By the way please post
your thoughts on the original question as we never did
come up with a good answer or if we did I was really
drunk at the time.

I was there 1965 to 1972 and so remember most of things on
your website. Dai Roberts was our form teacher in the sixth
form and would let us get away with murder, what a change
from lower down the school. He is no longer with us I
understand, great shame. The Film society I can remember
very well. Mr O'Toole had the film catalogue which he went
through with us to find the films, I had membership card
Number One. I was in most of the plays you mentioned, in roles
of varying importance and it was the thing I most enjoyed at
school. You wondered who the Maths and French teachers were,
it could have been Mr Sills for maths and Mr Lloyd for French.
How the time flies
