Don and Jenny were of course made for each other! Don was such a nice bloke that all the boys wanted to be him, or at least be his best mate! And of course as soon as we met her, all the boys fell in love with Jenny! Don had stayed faithful to his girlfriend from home all the time he was at Uni, and then in the third year he met Jenny, who was a first year geographer. They started going out, and then had the society marriage of the century as far as we were concerned, at Newstead Abbey, where Jenny lived.

And of course before that there was the stag night! All the boys were there and there could only really be one venue - a day trip to Blackpool! Below is shown the day in pictures. I don't think it really needs too much explanation, other than to say it was a great day!If you point at each picture you should get a clue to help you work out who is who and what is going on....

Don, Kev and Simon probably flipping beermats Simon, Jenny's brother Chris, and Morris
Blackpool trips always started by finding the first pub as soon as we got out of the station, and then staying in there until it closed for the afternoon - I bet you can't remember opening and closing times can you! Then there was the problem of finding something to do for an hour until the pubs opened again!
Ouch - who put that lamppost there? Now don't bend those railings
This is a true comedy moment - Simon has just turned round and walked into a lamppost while lefty hasn't noticed and is still talking to him! ...and if you can't find anything to do just pick on Simon!
My money's on Lefty Kev is actually balancing on a wall here!
Richard, Don and Lefty have realised that the last drop of whisky until opening time is in that small bottle they are fighting over. Lefty is managing to smile for the camera at the same time while Kev is strangely uninterested? ...ah - that is because Kev has his own stash which he now finishes off in front of an amused lady behing him!
Look at the flares in the distance - that was the first time around! Kerr obviously getting a bit excited as he's having to be held back!
Do you know this lot? Don has got the hang of this but Kev is having to concentrate really hard to stay in a straight line!
And now it's time to play follow the girls all the way along the prom to the Pleasure Beach. Luckily they were friendly and we had quite a laugh with them.
Looking a little dazed When you're smiling....the whole world smiles with you!
Kev realises that the pubs are opening again soon so disposes of some of the afternoon's drink to make room for more! ...so the boys decide they'd better join in!
They were only pretending to do it Hughie!
Some people take this far too seriously though - that's the side of the log flume in the pleasure beach! I'm not so sure that Kev is actually enjoying the big dipper!
Phew - back on earth again! Do Yamaha make beer?
That's better - back on familiar ground in the pub and Kev's not looking so pale. And Simon very kindly offers me a pint!
Is someone holding him up? Ah - now someone is holding him down!
Then off to another pub, suitably refreshed. Hmmm - was that a can of spinach Kev was drinking? Simon seems to have been on it as well - he's now getting his own back on Kev for being beaten up on the prom earlier!
They have their helmets ready for a quick getaway Smile!
Kerr's chat up technique appears to involve threatening to throw up on them if he doesn't get a taste of their drink! Don has perfected his smile for the camera but Richard appears to be having a bit of difficulty with it.
Poser! I have no idea who they were - we just met them in the pub!
Now Don really rubs it in by doing his serious and studious pose for the camera - Richard will never match that! Simon's chat up lines obviously work a lot better but..hang on...has the girl on the left seem Kerr coming towards her?
Now this looks like a party! Seventies vampires
It must have been Kerr coming towards her - look on the left - she appears to have fainted with the shock, but everyone else seems to have been enjoying themselves! ...well these two are anyway!!
Help! I must get a bigger shirt....
The trip home is always difficult for some. When you slip off a British Rail seat it was always very difficult to get back up again, as Kerr discovered. Richard found a peaceful seat in the guards van anyway!
Say cheese....or wine! Excess baggage
So it's goodnight from us! ...and it's goodnight from Kev. Who really did go to sleep on the luggage rack!
